Dear Sir,
I am writing on behalf of Tearfund to enthusiastically endorse the vision and work of the Lifeline Community Action charity based in Newton Aycliffe (Helping Hands is part of this charity).
We have been working in partnership with them over the past six months and have recently awarded them a Cinnamon Network micro grant of £2,000 in support of their excellent community work.
The demand for their community services is growing and they’re working very hard to scale up their operational capacity and fundraising efforts to meet this on-going challenge. They are also building good relationships with their local authority and government representatives to help ensure a joined up approach to the local community services they’re providing.
Lifeline Community Action is helping some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in their community. Their ethos is all about treating people with dignity and respect and giving them back their sense of belonging and increasing their self-esteem. Their objective is not to make people dependent on their services but rather to help them get themselves out of poverty and make a better life for themselves and their families.
I also wholeheartedly endorse the integrity, competence, commitment and passion of the Lifeline Community Action leadership team to deliver a first class service and to use their limited resources wisely and effectively in support of their community transformation objectives.
Kevan Leckie
