The town’s Rotary Club helped organise the annual Swimathon at Spennymoor Leisure Centre on Sunday 12th May and 38 teams participated, sharing the money raised in sponsorship with the charity of their choice and “Heel and Toe” a charity helping children with disabilities. It is estimated £8000 was raised on the day.
Bewick Crescent Surgery (below) have entered a team each year and the team swam 231 lengths to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
