Last week saw the first ever ‘Love Aycliffe’ event hosted by the Churches Together in Great Aycliffe and it was great success. Situated in Aycliffe town centre, the Love Aycliffe Hub was an opportunity to meet with the people of the town, for conversation and if they wanted, to pray for them. Nearly 200 people popped in which was amazing. The week started off with a 2 minute silence for those caught up in the Manchester attacks, with many local clergy being joined by our local MP Phil Wilson and the Mayor of Great Aycliffe Wendy Hillary.
A book of condolence was also situated in the Hub throughout the week for people to sign. We hope the people of the town are encouraged to see how the churches in Great Aycliffe, though having different styles in worship, came together with the purpose of loving our town and the people of our town and praying for our town too. A massive THANK YOU to CoffeePronto, Greggs & Love Thy Cupcake for the generous help with refreshments and to Bryan Haldane ad the town centre management for the use of the space.
Keep an eye out for Love Aycliffe initiatives in the future. In the meantime, if you have a prayer request or would like more information about the various churches in the area then please send us a message. Our email address is loveaycliffe@gmail.com
