As part of Rights Respecting Day, approximately fifty Year 11 students from Greenfield Community College visited Teesside University for a ‘Taster day’, which gave them a useful insight into university life. The students were met by a group of enthusiastic ambassadors who devised a range of activities that helped the students explore potential courses and areas of future study. After lunch the students enjoyed a tour of the campus followed by more workshops which stimulated their interest and helped them recognise the true value of pursuing a university future. “I never thought university or Teesside would be for me, but
now I’ve really changed my mind” said Josh, one of the many students who realised that now was the time to begin thinking about other possibilities. Greenfield Community College is grateful to all the ambassadors and organisers who helped to make the day worthwhile. We look forward to future work with one of the North East’s many wonderful higher education providers.
