The Year 7 visit to Newton Aycliffe Town Centre is now a regular calendar fixture at Greenfield College. Last week all the Year 7’s walked down to the town centre and were engaged in a series of Humanities enquiries. They explored Christian beliefs through the features and beautiful stained glass in St Clare’s Church, discovering rich local history and reflecting on the planning and re-development of the town centre in a geographical field study through talking to local residents.
The students’ attitude was exemplary despite some challenging weather and they gained valuable information, insights and skills to bring back to the classroom. We would like to thank St Clare’s Church and the Youth Centre for their generous hospitality.
