From 20th to 30th July, Woodham Academy opened its doors to Year 6 pupils from its family of primary schools.
The aim of the Summer School was to allow pupils to benefit from two weeks of activities in a relaxed and fun environment. It was an ideal opportunity for pupils to find their way around the school, meet some of the staff, and, make new friends before they even start at Woodham.
The Summer School was great fun, and the main priority was to make it an enjoyable leaning experience. Daily activities included scrap booking, mad science, maths, Design Technology, Let’s Get Cooking, swimming and outdoor fun
Students were rewarded for their hard work on a daily basis and at the end of the Summer School there was an Awards Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of those who had participated. On Thursday 23rd July, the group spent a day at the Life Centre, followed by a day at the Blue Reef Aquarium, Tynemouth on Thursday 30th July.
