Woodham Academy students visited Darlington College and Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College
Year 10 students at Woodham Academy were recently given the opportunity to visit Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College and Darlington College as part of the school’s enrichment programme. This aims to give students an insight into life after leaving school and the various options they have available. On both trips students were allowed to choose which ‘courses’ they would like to sample in a morning and afternoon session. At Queen Elizabeth options included A-Level Law, English Language, Computing, Psychology, and Film & Media, Whilst at Darlington College options included Beauty Therapy, Childcare, Game Design & Development, Motor Vehicle, and Uniformed Public Services. By giving students lots of opportunities to sample different Further Education establishments Woodham Academy hopes that students will make a well-rounded decision about what they would like to do after they have completed their GCSEs. The visits are proving very popular with students who are impressed at the range of courses on offer.
