Greenfield Arts are delighted to announce their latest exhibition ‘Stories from the Hive’ by Julie Cockburn. The exhibition is a collection of work exploring the connections we all have.
Julie chooses materials which reflect elements of her childhood, combined with her ‘flawed and imperfect memories’ resulting in her creations of uneasy beauty. ‘Stories from the Hive’ brings together a collection of work inspiring us to consider the memories and connections in our lives.
The exhibition will run from Thursday 9th January to Wednesday 12th February 2020 with a preview evening on Wednesday 8th January from 18:00 – 20:00.
Running alongside the exhibition there is a range of activities and opportunities to explore your creativity and be inspired by Julie’s artwork. Workshops include introductory sessions to rag rug making (Thursday 23rd January 18:00 – 20:00) and 3D rigid ink drawing (Thursday 30th January 18:00 – 20:00).
Julie will be leading the workshops which offer the chance to learn new creative skills in both drawing and textiles and each workshop costs Just £15. The Greenfield Gallery is open Monday to Thursday 10:00 – 21:00 and Fridays 10:00 – 16:00.
The exhibition is an integral part of the new season at Greenfield Arts in 2020, in our birthday year we want to celebrate with the community that we are connected with.
