Children from Woodham Burn Community Primary School and students from Woodham Academy gave a stunning performance on Saturday evening when they took part in Opera Nova’s production of The Merry Widow in the hall at Woodham Burn Primary.
The show was the final event of Opera Nova’s Outreach Project in Aycliffe, funded by Great Aycliffe Town Council.
The delighted audience included Aycliffe Mayor, Councillor John Clark, as well as families, friends, teachers and regular Opera Nova supporters.
Maureen Hogg, former Aycliffe Art teacher, said: “What an astonishing performance last night. It was hard to believe how comfortable and confident the children were in their role, performing with the hugely talented singers of Opera Nova. It was a very special experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Opera Nova thanks Great Aycliffe Town Council for the generous support that made all our summer events in Aycliffe possible.
