Working in connection with Durham Christian Partnership PAD-B is a life-changing programme to address people who are looking for any form of support. We offer a compassionate personal approach to recovery from drug or alcohol dependency and mental health issues.
“PAD-B” means to “press a different button”, to do things differently in order to get a better result in life. The PAD-B programme is set out to help people from chaotic backgrounds to recover and then go on to mentor/support others who struggle with similar problems.
We believe that the best person to help are the ones who have been through these issues, those who can relate to the struggles and battles of addiction and mental health. We offer a variety of activities, working together in groups and providing one on one sessions with a vision of helping those through their addiction and mental health.
From 9th to the 13th July a group from PAD-B will be trekking 97 miles through the Northumbrian countryside and coastline, the PAD-B group will be starting at Heavenfield on Tuesday the 9th of July, completing the trek to Holy Island on Saturday the 13th of July. They will be supported by St Nic’s Church Recovery Group (Durham) and their aim is to raise as much money as they can to enable PAD-B to continue the valuable and much needed work in supporting those struggling with drug, alcohol and certain mental health issues.
PadB is a project operated under Durham Christian Partnership and is a life changing opportunity for those struggling with substance dependency and certain mental health issues to work their way back to being independent members of the community. PAD-B comes alongside individuals and offers a compassionate personal approach to recovery and which includes drama and art therapy, outdoor activities, including an allotment and supervised walks.
