The Pioneering Care Centre provides a range of complementary therapies that offer an alternative way to alleviate the effects of stress, increase energy levels, reduce aches and pains, improve mobility or help you relax.
Jo-Anne Lumley has joined the team of therapists to provide complementary therapies including Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Swedish Body Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reiki and is a member of the Federation on Holistic Therapists.
Jo-Anne has a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from Teesside University and is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists.
Jo-Anne says “Sports therapy can be used to address a range of injuries; I use therapeutic techniques for the prevention, recognition and treatment of minor sports injuries. I can also help people wanting to maintain and improve fitness; it’s not just for athletes.
I use tried and tested techniques that reduce soreness and improve endurance and flexibility, as well as treat injuries and assist with rehabilitation. My aim is to prevent injuries and to help those who are injured to return to full fitness.”
A typical initial session takes approximately 1½ hours and involves a full consultation of the injury using a number of techniques including posture analysis, gait analysis, biomechanical assessment, as well as soft tissue assessment and treatment. Sports Therapy Initial Assessment and treatment costs £40, concessions £35.
Other treatments include Soft Tissue Therapy, Mechanical and Electrical Treatments, Cooling or Warming Therapy and Mobilisations of the Joints and Spine. Soft Tissue & Deep Tissue Treatment costs £35, concession £30 for full body (allow 1 hour). Part body (allow 30 mins) costs just £25 concession £20.
