Woodham Academy Sports Leaders helped to run a fantastic event in conjunction with Sedgefield School Sports Partnership at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on Tuesday 5th November.
Year 9 GCSE PE students demonstrated confident sports leadership skills to run an indoor Sportshall Athletics Festival for Year 5 and 6 primary pupils from across the town.  The event ran on a carousel system where the primary students participated in a range of events which included indoor javelin, triple jump, standing long jump, speed bounce, vertical jump and various track events.
The Woodham Academy students had responsibility for organising the primary students and equipment safely, whilst using their knowledge to explain and demonstrate each specific event. Over 200 primary children attended the event over the day.sportsleaders
