Every Tuesday afternoon, 3.30pm-5.30pm, ‘Colour your Life’ with Arts on Prescription run creative workshops for families at the Pioneering Care Centre, Newton Aycliffe.
Workshops are led by local professional artists for children of all ages and include activities such as Puppet-Making, Printing, Messy Play, Making Bird/Bug Boxes and many, many more.
A special ‘Spooky’ session is planned for Tuesday 29 Octoberwhich will include Pumpkin Carving. The sessions are free for the first 8 weeks and all creative materials are provided so just bring yourself and your children!
‘Colour Your Life’ also run creative sessions for adults every Monday, 10am- 12pm and 1-3 pm and Tuesday 6pm-8 pm. Sessions include painting and drawing, combined crafts and skills such as glass painting and upholstery and many more. Again the first 8 sessions are free and all materials are provided.
The Colour Your Life with Arts on Prescription service is a ‘social prescription’ for the management of mental health and wellbeing, funded by Durham County Council.
