Project Trust is a long established organisation which specialises in sending volunteers abroad. They were established in 1967 and have so far sent over 6,000 volunteers to over 60 different countries. The funding will enable Chris Armstrong to volunteer in Africa for 1 year helping to teach English and encourage extra-curricular activities for children in Ghana with Project Trust.
Chris was invited by Project Trust to take part in a 4 day selection process in Scotland where they identified his football coaching skills and ability to work with and relate to children as particular strengths that would suit the Liati-Agbonyra Junior Secondary School in Ghana. The school has 109 students with five permanent teachers and four volunteer teachers.
