Spectrum Roller Skaters have been busy raising money for Children in Need. Sixteen skaters took part in a charity show at Shildon Civic Hall skating two demonstrations to music from Trolls and Cotton Eye Joe. The skaters also held a fundraising roller disco to celebrate Pudsey day on Friday 16th November covering a skating bear in coins to raise £36.69 for Children in Need.
This month 13 skaters are taking part in The Kindness Counts Award doing acts of kindness throughout the month to gain a medal. In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
The award is part of The Great British Challenges for Children. For every child taking part £1 is donated to Rainbows Children’s Hospice in memory of Sophie Byrne providing vital care and support to families impacted by life-limiting conditions. Skaters have so far donated coats to Shildon Alive, made cups of tea for their mums and hidden kindness rocks for others to find.
