Students of Woodham Academy recently made a visit to Nissan UK as part of a specialist day event. The event aimed to give students awareness of the engineering and manufacturing sector and also about the STEM subjects.
Students spent part of the day designing and manufacturing land yachts and then went on the visit to Nissan UK. At the plant students got to see first-hand how science, technology, engineering and maths are used in both the design and manufacture of saleable products.
Students were also given a plant tour so they could see how the STEM skills were being put into practice in the manufacture of the company’s products.
