The vast range of help and support on offer for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is now on offer on a dedicated website.
The “Local Offer” on the County Durham Families Information Service site has all the information in one place. It ranges from education, health and social care to getting out and about, training and employment and independent living.
It is available for children and young people up to the age of 25 and their families, carers and other professionals providing support.
The easy to navigate site details on organisations and services across County Durham, the North East and nationally who provide information, support and activities to children and young people with SEND.
In line with new legislation, Durham County Council has worked closely with children, young people, parents, carers and professionals to ensure the website meets their needs and provides a resource for families to use on a regular basis. The coordinated development will make sure the information is easy to find and can produce an individual information resource for families to use on a regular basis.
