Since reopening, schools up and down the country have rearranged and restructured their start and end of day procedures in order to support social distancing.
Headteacher of Horndale County Infant & Nursery School in Newton Aycliffe, Craig Brown, found that parents were happy with procedures once inside the school grounds but some found it difficult to maintain social distancing outside the grounds.
Mr Brown contacted local Councillor, John Clare, who supported the schools application to Durham County Council to allow the school to paint social distancing markers on the public footpath outside the school grounds. Parents have felt supported by the addition of the markers which are used daily “It’s better organised than most of the supermarkets”, declared one parent.
