Slimming World as a company are passionate in not only helping people lose weight and change their lives but for helping raise awareness for charities and the local Slimming World groups in Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland and Shildon gathered recently to help raise money for Cancer Reserch UK.
Over 100 members, friends and family turned out at Shildon race track to complete the Slimming World Race for Life 5k and it was an amazing day with tombola, raffle, name the bear and penalty shoot out for the children. One member said ‘the Slimming World Consultants really made a huge effort to ensure everyone had fun and it was great to get some healthy exercise in there too’.
From donations and sponsorship, they have currently raised £339.90 with money still coming in. Jo Mackintosh a Consultant from Shildon was blown away by peoples generosity. ‘Members really did us proud with participating and donating some amazing gifts. Some members walked further than they had in years and it was inspiring to watch’.
