The weather on the night I must admit was awful, howling wind, rain and freezing cold with frost on the windows of the cars in the morning, but I’ve got to say it was worth every penny sponsored.
We have handed over a cheque from our Newton Aycliffe shop staff and volunteers for £1435.01 to Tees Valley YMCA Hostel in Darlington. The total raised was £2500.
A grateful mention for our brave volunteers: Denise McWilliam, Stacy Burke, Karen Hodgeson, Belinda Smith and Sue Glossop-Freebody, who worked so hard raising the money and awareness for youth homelessness.
A massive thank you to the public for their sponsorship on behalf of the young people who access the 31 rooms the hostel provides.
