Spectrum (North East) Roller Skating Club hosted their first ever gala Sunday 18th June at Darlington Dolphin Centre and came back with 33 trophies! Spectrum Roller Skating Club who skate at Sunnydale Leisure Centre, Shildon invited Tees Valley Club based at Middlesbrough along to share the experience. In total 40 skaters competed in the 5 hour Gala which catered for all ages and ability.  The final performance was a demonstration from Amy Berryman – former British Champion and international skater.  Amy showed her Freedance routine which was inspirational for the aspiring skaters. “I would like to thank all the competitors for their fabulous performances, their families for coming along and supporting, the team of helpers who organised the event and all the amazing judges who gave up their time to help us.”
Tracy Stevens I’m proud that roller skating is a growing sport in our area and more people are getting involved. For 6 of our Spectrum skaters this was their very first skate in front of an audience. Well done to all who took part as that itself is a big achievement!
