On 8th February representatives from Simpasture Fisheries, McColl’s Store, The Iron Horse and WASPS Residents Association successfully completed a resuscitation and defibrillator training course helped by The Big Lottery. .
The afternoon was very enjoyable and informative, with training provided by Garry West of Emtec Medical, a local provider.
The new defibrillator is housed in Simpasture Court Coffee Lounge and is for the use of the whole community, if the need ever arises.
Contact numbers for the trained operators will be available but it is a very easy piece of equipment to use by anyone, and will be vital in increasing the survival chances of a cardiac arrest patient.
Many thanks go to Honest John who funded the machine, Andrew Deptford who supplied it, LIVIN for the installation and Garry West for a fun, professional course.
