Shoddy Standards

Dear Sir,
As a resident of Newton Aycliffe for over 12 years, I have witnessed what I can only describe as a gradual decline in what was a very well maintained and lovely town.
The poor standard of maintenance of the communal grassed areas around the town is just one notable difference amongst others, such as the decline of our town centre and clear lack of investment for the local community.
The grassed areas near Vane Road and Mellanby Crescent are ‘chopped’ and ‘hacked’, leaving debris strewn across the pathways and roadside, more recently the standard of grass cutting has become even worse with grass sprayed onto my car parked on the driveway of my home.
Livin and Durham County Council should have some form of quality control and, given previous comments reported in the Newton News, one would think they would get their act together and provide, at the very least, a decent service for local residents.
If this is how the local authorities/organisations treat our town then what is the hope for our younger generation who witness such shoddy standards, no respect.
