SHINE Choir is a popular children’s community choir which meets every Monday 5-6pm at St. Clare’s Church in Newton Aycliffe. We begin a new term on Monday 9th September at 5pm. The choir is open to all boys and girls from 5 years of age, we currently have 35 young people aged between 5 and 13 years of age and have space for 10 more!
Singing in a choir has all sorts of proven benefits- aiding speech and language, improving wellbeing and developing confidence are just some reasons to join. Another big one of course is it’s great fun!!! FREE to join, with juice and biscuits kindly provided by parents keep us going.
We learn a wide variety of songs and occasionally use sign language also.
This choir is grateful to all the support it receives from the local community and we like to support community events too – the children love to perform. All children who wish to, will be able to take part in a Christmas Production planned for two dates in December.
