Companies at Aycliffe can now access exciting new wireless technology providing cost effective super-fast internet access with speeds of up to 1,000 MB. IT firm Razorblue, which has a track record of more than a decade of solving problems, has invested heavily to provide a new service to benefit firms across the North East.
Companies in areas of the business park have long had problems with their internet due to high cost of dedicated leased lines and limited access to super-fast fibre connections. Catterick-based Razorblue, with offices in Wynyard, Leeds and London, has come up with a cost-effective solution and have already installed a state of-the-art rooftop point-topoint wireless internet solution at the Xcel Centre.
Razorblue has solved similar problems for industrial estates across the north – including Stockton, Wakefield, York and Catterick. The service provides cost-effective business-grade internet connections. Superfast symmetrical bandwidth for download, as well as upload speed, complemented by 24/7 monitoring. Razorblue’s local engineers will be on hand should an issue occur.
“The service will be live and available to all businesses very soon,” said Razorblue managing director Dan Kitchen.
“There’s a simple one-off installation cost and – as with any internet connection – a monthly fee. Except this delivers much higher speeds and uses tried and tested rooftop wireless technology, rather than cables in the ground. It’s been great to help the team at Xcel Centre and it’s also a major step in solving a lot of other people’s issues” Xcel Centre managing director Kerina Clark, who’s also chair person of Aycliffe Business Park Community, said: “What I like about Razorblue is they listened and came up with a solution to meet our needs. The added value is the potential benefit they are bringing to our fellow residents on Aycliffe Business Park.”
Razorblue was set up by Dan Kitchen when he was just 16 and began as a cloud hosting business. He still works with some early clients, but has evolved and now offers expertise in managed IT support, cloud, superfast connectivity, telecoms and bespoke business software.
Last year the company celebrated its 10th anniversary and opened a new office at Wynard Park, employing 45 across four sites. Dan said: “Although our passion is IT, we recognise it’s just one of many functions for our clients – albeit an increasingly important one.
Most don’t need to know the nuts and bolts of how we provide the service they require. They just need to know that it will work, that it is value for money and it’s reliable.”
