Dear Sir,
I have just googled Aycliffe town centre, in the day, and how better it was when the road ran through the middle.
I’ve been on this town since I was twelve years old, lived and worked here. I am now a self employed kitchen fitter, age 64. To be totally honest, Aycliffe is not a place I like to live any more. It has not got a nice vibe, the town centre is horrible, but I am fortunate that I live in Woodham, I grew up in Langley Road just off Vane Road and the old part town is falling apart, walls crumbling, roads a mess – in parts it’s like a shanty town. I pay £174 a month council tax and do not get a lot for it.
I’m haven’t noticed a massive change, you might think I’m out of line by having a view, but I feel strong on this, so I have decided to move off the town as it’s not what I envisioned Aycliffe becoming, it’s lost its way and no money is being spent in the right places.
