Sedgefield 75 swimming club took part in the annual Wear Valley May Gala and came away with 11 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze along with 87% of all races entered being personal best times, Grace Dutchburn (14) lead the way with 4 gold 2 bronze, followed by Kye Cowton (15) 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze, Zac Hodgkinson (12) 2 gold and 1 Silver, William Angus (14) 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze, Alyssa Craggs (12) and Claudia Chapman (11) both won 1 gold & 1 bronze each and Jordane Salmon (13), Damian Lawson (11), Sophie Wilkinson (11) and Lauren Chat (11) all achieved best times.
Attending Coach Lee Craggs commented “this was an outstanding performance considering teams from as far as Sheffield and Newcastle entered this event with some good swimmers, the hard work and dedication is certainly paying off as this comes off the back of national and regional success for our senior swimmers”.
Also that weekend two swimmers competed at the Open Gala at Sunderland, Mathew Bradley came away with Gold in the 50 and 100 Freestyle and Silver in the 100 Butterfly, Hannah Featherstone won Gold in 400 Freestyle.
