Are you a budding lead guitarist or drummer and would like to pay tribute to The Beatles? It has been 60 years since the most iconic band in British pop music took the world by storm, releasing album after album, hit after hit and setting the benchmark for many to follow. With an unprecedented fan base and industry respect for their great achievements, later this year a new local tribute act ‘THE Budget BEATLES’ will be entertaining audiences in and around the area, celebrating their music with a set list that will deliver high energy from start to finish. Given that this is a new tribute act formed by two local young lads (Newton Aycliffe & Darlington) with a strong sense of imagery, character and instrumentation, they will be starting on a budget, just like The Beatles themselves, because it’s all about the music. The band is aiming to launch by late spring for a summer of fun, so they are working hard developing that iconic sound and performance, but more importantly, ‘John’ and ‘Paul’ require the assistance of ‘George’ and ‘Ringo’. So, if anyone reading this article is between the ages of 18 – 23 or knows someone who may be interested and is able to play lead guitar like George or play drums like Ringo, then please do not hesitate to get in touch…WE NEED YOU! A drum kit is available and the guitarist just needs the ability to play well without owning a Gretsch, but it would be nice. At this stage, we’re on a budget. Also, if any local venues are interested in provisional bookings from April/May onwards, then we welcome your interest while we find our feet.
