The Sedgefield School Sport partnership Primary schools football competitions held at Greenfield School reached an exciting crescendo for all 10 teams with the last matches being played with great intensity and in freezing temperatures.
Byerley Park proved the outstanding team in one group and remained undefeated, running out champions with Aycliffe Village. St Johns played consistently well and were also undefeated but had 4 draws which meant they were silver medallists. The bronze medal place was a close run thing with 3 schools placed equally – Trimdon Juniors, Chilton and Stephenson Way who secured the bronze medal having scored more goals.
In the other group the winners position was only decided in the last match where Aycliffe Village secured a 1-0 victory to take top place over a gallant Woodham Burn team. St Michaels took the bronze medal.
