“Stepping Out with Clare Walton” Dance School attended ‘Move It 2016’ in London’s Excel. They were excited to see all the major colleges performing and taking lectures with famous choreographers like Lukas McFarlane, Ryan Jenkins, Ben Davies and Ballet Boys to name a few.
Five dancers: Lisa Robinson – for Commercial Street Charlie Lough, Georgia Thelwell and Claudia Bennett – for Contemporary Lyrical and Emily Halford for Latin (who trains in this genre with Bryan & Brenda Thomson at Lee Green School on the town) were spotted and scouted throughout the weekend with an invitation to live finals of the Dance Elite UK competition. The prize is £5000 and a scholarship to Hollywood, by-passing the audition process.
Due to the standard shown by these girls Dance Elite UK want to come to the Aycliffe studios and audition every single SO dancer and others in the North East strictly by invitation only.
West End ‘Matilda’ Casting Agent approached Principal Teacher Clare after seeing Claudia Bennett perform and have offered her an opportunity to audition for a West End Role in Matilda and want to come and audition the rest of the school for supporting dancing roles.
Georgia Thelwell was chosen to dance on Ryan Jenkins “ID Dance” Showreel for Moveit16 with his dancers.
Georgia Thelwell and Charlie Lough have been chosen to front up a new dance and sport clothing range in Hampshire by a new upcoming company ‘The Jonese’s Apparel’.
Chloe Fenton (from Dance Mams UK) clothing range Bossy have selected our whole school of dancers to perform in the launch of her label in Liverpool
Georgia Thelwell, Claudia Bennett, Lisa Robinson and Charlie Lough were scouted by TalentInc, a US company with an audition invitation in London on March 26th for TV work. They do Austin & Ally, Bella & Bulldogs, Twilight, and films Paper Towns, Vogue & Elle.
Emily Halford secured an audition for Kimberley Wyatt for the Hollywood Tour 2016. She was also approached by the Russian Ballet.
The school was recommended for a main stage performance for ‘Move it 2017’ alongside the country’s top colleges.
Charlie Lough, Claudia Bennett, Georgia Thelwell and Lisa Robinson competed on the ‘Move It’ Freestyling Stage with amazing IPROV performances which Charlie Lough won her ‘Move It’ Freestylers stage heat then went on to win the overall Grand Final beating well known students who have been televised from famous studios
Off the back of that Charlie Lough was chosen by scouts offering a scholarship to the Hollywood summer tour 2016! She will attend dance classes at L.A.’s hottest dance studios where the magic of making music videos happen! She will work with top choreographers and receive lots of vip experience!
Another pupil, Daniel Wilkinson, attended Abby Lee Miller’s Masterclass and after being put through his paces smashed the audition and was offered a scholarship with Abby Lee Miller in LA.
What a weekend for theses pupils who are nicknamed fondly “The Green Machines” due to their hard working ethos and passion for dance.
