School Aycliffe’s Scarlet Dunn took a brave 7th place at Rowrah last weekend. She was racing with injuries sustained in a fall on the Saturday and competed despite being in a lot pain.

She did a brilliant job to firstly qualify in 5th place. Then through the heats she finished 9th & 6th & finished 11th in the final, giving her an overall position of 7th for the day.

“She was a real warrior” said Mam Amanda. “All of us at Amaron racing are very proud of her for even competing”. It was also one of the most competitive fields she has competed against to date with 20 of some of the Country’s fastest Bambino drivers on track due to a National Championship meeting coming up.

Scarlet also took another step-up in the sport at the weekend with her first run on slick tyres and a more powerful IAME class engine. She took to the extra grip and power very naturally and was mixing with the front runners on the track after only a few laps! The class is good preparation for her hopes to move up to the 200cc Honda Cadet class next year where Amaron will be looking to obtain a front running kart.

Scarlet next competes at Rowrah in September but will be looking to get some more practice in beforehand at local circuit Teesside.
