Eight year old Scarlet Dunn returned to the podium last weekend in round 6 of the Teesside Owner Driver Sprint Bambino Comer Championship at Teesside Karting in Middlesbrough.
Racing a new engine for the first time, the Aycliffe girl racer qualified in 3rd and fought for the top 3 in all heats. She started 4th for the final but gradually closed the gap to jump ahead of championship leader Thomas Potter and take 3rd overall. The event was won by Edward Haynes and 2nd place was taken by Jacob Richardson.
“Scarlet drove really well all weekend” said Mam (and former championship winning racer) Amanda. “She was so determined all weekend and especially focused in the final. Hopefully her new engine will keep going faster and faster, enabling her to compete for a win soon”.
Scarlet’s team AMARON Racing gave her good support again this weekend and brother Harrison was also in attendance. Having set his best practice times in practice before the event, it won’t be long until he is also competing.
Scarlet competes again this coming weekend at her favourite track Rowrah in Cumbria.
