Margaret and Alex Cochrane were married on the 6th December 1952 in Methil Parish Church, Fife, in Scotland. They have four children, Dale, Colin, Audrey and Sandra along with nine Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren.
They moved south to Newton Aycliffe in the mid sixties due to Alex working as an Office Manager on building the motorway between Aycliffe and Bradbury.
While here Margaret worked at the GEC factory and later in the laundry at Aycliffe School. Work commitments took them away again from Aycliffe in 1980, moving back to Scotland in Cumbernauld and a village near Pitlochry.
They moved south and lived in Wolverhampton before Alex retired in 1994 when they moved back to Newton Aycliffe to their home in Rushyford Court.
Margaret is members and regular attendee at Neville Parade Methodist Church and Alex in his retirement pursued his interest in computers and mechanical engineering. He also enjoys studying local history and was member of the local society for many years.
Our town Mayor, Wendy Hillary, called on the couple to pass on congratulations on behalf of the Council and the townspeople.
