On Sunday 6th October Julie Nisbet and Martyn Knox from Aycliffe Running Club joined over 1000 other participants for the 4th Kielder Marathon.  This race is billed as Britain’s most beautiful marathon and is a spectacular off road course covering some of the region’s most scenic spots.
Neither Martyn or Julie had done any specific marathon training, but, they both finished in really good times with Martyn in 4:06 and Julie 5:14.
On the same day Peter Smith, Colin Gibson and Ray Todd from Aycliffe Running Club competed in the NYSD Cross Country at Acklam.  Peter Smith finished in 50:37, Colin Gibson in 55:13 and Ray Todd completed the vet course in 34:55
