The Club had another good turnout for the Serpentine race at Sedgefield. This is a completely off-road course and very muddy in places. It was also quite hot for a late September day.
Outstanding run of the day came from Judith Porter in her first attempt at this demanding course and was 2nd female o/60, finishing in 58:36. Peter Milburn also ran well in the o/50 age group in the good time of 43:16, but first home for the club was Dez Fielden in 8th position in 40:46.
Other results were as follows: Matthew Heron – 46:15, Peter Smith 50:39, Kevin Greenall – 53:25, Trish Kay – 55:23, Chris Forster – 56:53, Beverley Phillipo – 66:00, Ray Todd – 68:14 and 1st to 75.
On the same day three runners from  the club took part in the Yorkshire 10k, which was also off-road around the Newby Hall estate. John Young was 1st home for the club in 48:47, followed by Elaine Morgan 63:56 and Yvonne Williams 67:12
