There was a good turnout from the club at the NYSD cross-country meeting at Summerhill, Hartlepool. It was a mild day and the rain kept away, but the damage had already been done by the heavy rain on previous days. This left the course the muddiest it has been for years with runners sliding about all over.
The club had a strong team in the Senior Women’s 4.6k race and finished in 6th position. First home for the club was Michelle Zamir, 18th in 21:40, followed by Michelle Jane, 27th in 22:28 and Cyd Denise, 35th in 23:21. The men’s team finished 7th
In the over 65 men’s 4.6k race, Ray Todd was the only finisher in the O/75 category in 33:40.On the same day some other members of the club travelled down to Leeds for the for the Abbey Dash 10k. This is a very popular race as it is a flat and fast course and is good for PB’s.
