The festive season is nearly upon us and as such there are slightly fewer races to take part in and lots of parties to attend. Last weekend was also the night of the ARC Christmas Party and so there is less to report on this week.
A small handful of runners did however manage to take part in some races.
First up was Trish Kay who took part in the 5k Reindeer Chase. This is an annual festive race that takes place at Bowes Museum. This is not an actual timed race but more a charity fun run. It starts in the museum grounds and then continues onto the playing fields of Barnard Castle school. The idea of this race is to chase a person dressed as a reindeer and try and tear a paper ticket off their back which is then placed into a raffle. Entry to this race also allows participants entry to the Christmas Market and Museum. Trish enjoyed the race despite the day being very windy and cold.
Four members also took part in the Xmas Trail Run in Preston Park, Stockton in what were slippy conditions given the weather the night before and the mud. First home for the club was Peter Milburn in 20.28, followed by Sue Milburn in 25.15. Sue was also first lady o60. Alan Wilks was next in 25.49 and was also first male o70 followed by David Stothard in 27.01.
