Members of Durham County Council’s Bike-4-Life cycling scheme completed the “Coast to Coast” cycle ride from Whitehaven to Roker, Sunderland from 7th– 9th July.
Initially this three day event was to be the personal challenge of two Aycliffe Rotarians Bob Stevenson and Barry Knevitt who regularly cycle from the Pioneering Care Centre.
The numbers increased when others from around the area were keen to take part in the challenge. It was then decided they would make this an opportunity to raise money for their personal charities including the Cardiac MRI Scanner Appeal for James Cook University Hospital and the recent Nepal Disaster Appeal. The Aycliffe pair are left of the photo standing and kneeling down.
