It was a high class affair as guests of Rose Lodge care home, Cobblers Lane, were treated to a sumptuous three course luncheon on Friday 28th October as the home hosted the latest in their highly popular ‘Come Dine With Me’ lunch events. Sixteen guests attended the dining event which saw a choice of two delicious three course menus. The starters on offer were a homemade cream of tomato soup served basil and cream and a crusty bread roll side or a mango and avocado salad with mint oil dressing. This was followed by main courses of Pan fried Chicken with wild mushroom sauce or Cumberland sausage and onion gravy served with sides of spring onion mashed potato, baton carrots, and fine green beans, and for dessert was a choice of white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake served with winter berries and crème Anglaise or toffee apple sponge served with vanilla ice cream. Guests, which included residents and their family members as well as guests from community groups and people living in the local area, enjoyed socialising over the lunch and refreshments and were given party favours and a photo taken on the day to take away with them as a memento. Head Chef David Nevison and Second Chef Karen Jackman were greeted with a round of applause as they came to meet with guests after their meal and were presented with gifts on behalf of the home to thank them for their on-going efforts to ensure that the food selection and presentation at Rose Lodge remains first class. Rose Lodge, owned by care provider Countrywide Care Homes, offers residential and specialist dementia care for up to 54 people. Care manager Nicola Wheatley Said: “We are absolutely delighted that they day was such a big success and would like to thank everyone who joined us for making the day so memorable. Our Chefs really pulled out all the stops to create two completely delicious menus and we had glowing feedback from guests which was wonderful to hear.”
