Frank McCaffrey and Kate Williams, two friends from Glasgow who lived next door to each other, at 9 years old, went their different ways. Kate moved to Canada and Frank eventually settled in Newton Aycliffe in 1970.
A year ago, by chance, the couple met again at the funeral of Frank’s Sister, Teresa. They had lots to talk about and Frank took up the invitation to visit Kate in Montreal.
He enjoyed his six week holiday and Kate’s company so much that a reciprocal visit was arranged. The relationship blossomed, Frank popped the question and they were married at Bishop Auckland on 19th October 2013.
It was a lovely wedding and the couple shared their new found love and happiness with family and friends. Kate has returned to Canada while Frank sorts out his emigration and personal matters in Newton Aycliffe, before joining her. Friends and family wish them both the happiness they deserve in their future life together.
