Mrs Allen would like to thank everyone who attended her celebration mass at St Joseph’s Primary School last week.
Mrs Allen said, “After 50 years working in education and 35 years at the school I have started my retirement. It was lovely to see all the staff, children and parents, both past and present. I especially enjoyed the children’s rendition of the Irish Blessing that they have been practicing, and listening to the children who read verses about the ascension. Thank you also to Father Cornforth for leading the mass.
“Thank you for all of the flowers, gifts and donations to the North East Air Ambulance service, which was my chosen charity. The Air Ambulance service is close to my heart as they have attended to two of the children I have taught over the years. God Bless you all.”
