ACORN Residents Association hold their AGM at 6pm on Thursday 14th February in Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. The highly successful resident’s group will be hosting a presentation by Neil Langthorne, Community Liaison Officer with Durham Constabulary. Neil is a regular attendee at ACORN meetings and along with his colleague Gavin Laycock, PCSO for the area, keep members appraised of criminal behaviour trends in the locality. ACORN incorporates Neighbourhood Watch within its organisation.
Subjects for discussion will include events, which ACORN intend to organise this coming year; such as Easter Egg Hunt, Teddy Bear’s picnic, Petting Zoo and St George’s Day celebration. Plus any suggestions which members or junior members wish to discuss such as parking issues, anti-social behaviour and town centre improvements.
Attending ACORN meetings gives access to Town and County Councillors plus representatives from livin and is also a forum for residents to air views and seek support. You are assured of a warm welcome; so please come along. ACORN junior section Little Acorns also welcomes new members and will be holding a meeting at the same venue from 5.30pm.
