As a newly elected Councillor I want to engage as much as possible with residents of the West Ward listening to your concerns and aspirations. With this in mind I would like to attend as many groups as possible.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending a crowded meeting of Williamfield Residents’ Association in the Western area Community Centre (Silverdale House), where I met some lovely people who expressed concerns about local issues.
Chair Dorothy Bowman introduced our local PC Mike Welch, Neighbourhood warden, Livin rep and County Councillors who reported on issues which affect the local community.
Items of concern included anti-social behaviour, fly tipping, fencing around homes and the poor visual state of the local shop which some felt denigrated the area.
I am really looking forward to meeting more residents as I involve myself in your neighbourhoods.
Your local councillors are going to be holding regular monthly surgeries beginning with Silverdale House on Saturday, 27th February from 11pm till noon.
