In response to Alastair P.G. Welsh’s letter two editions ago; it’s interesting to note that in one week in this country, two gay women have been violently attacked on a public bus in London and two other gay women were pelted with objects on the street in Southampton after they simply shared a kiss.
However, never mind all that, like Mr Welsh says, we have the cost of a flag to panic about!
Let’s not kid ourselves, the world and this country still has a long way to go regarding the treatment of gay people and I applaud our council for representing the cause.
