Having celebrated tremendous initial results for Maths GCSE in January, students at Woodham Academy were delighted last week when a further nineteen converted lower grades to Grade C.
This adds to the eighty-three students already holding a higher grade, mostly at grade B or above. The school has now guaranteed that the Class of 2013 will provide record results, and it may not stop there. If remaining students continue the improvement made over the last 2 months then breaking the 70% barrier is a distinct possibility.
On Higher Tier papers, Rhys Kingston and Ryan Metcalfe, recent stars of Woodham’s “We Will Rock You”, went on to add to the A* tally.
Deputy Headteacher, Ian Bickerdike commented, “Given the hours spent preparing and delivering the show, I am so impressed that Rhys and Ryan have also demonstrated such outstanding academic excellence. The recognition of their achievement is fully deserved.”
