When you call Ramseys, the happy, friendly voice you hear at the other end of the line is Elliott Ramsey, even if vertigo isn’t on Elliott’s list of phobias, the dizzy heights of his recent promotion to Service Manager have been well earned as Elliott follows in family footsteps as son of Financial Director, Gillian Ramsey.
The aftersales team now lead by Elliott are VAG factory trained technicians which means they are fully trained to look after all your VW, SEAT, Audi and Skoda service requirements… but it doesn’t end there. Ramseys have now become one of the area’s busiest workshops for all makes and models.
A new addition to the sales team is Motability specialist, Brian Nelson. Brian joined Ramseys in January 2013 and brings over 20 years experience in the motor-trade. Living locally and already aware of the family values associated with Ramseys, Brian decided it was time to move away from a large PLC group into the bosom of the Ramsey family.
“I’ve lived in Aycliffe for many years”, said Brian who is married with two children. As many local garages were swallowed up by large PLCs the shift from family values to increased profit (satisfying shareholders) meant those of us who were used to putting customers needs first, rather than focusing on sales targets, had now lost a lot of job satisfaction.”
Having worked for Rover, SEAT and Renault as Motability specialist, Brian is also aware of the change in the way people are buying their cars. “Many customers are now looking for quality pre-owned vehicles with savings against cost when new, said Brian, the clammer for new car registrations is definitely a thing of the past.”
Ramseys have made this sector of the market their own over the years, offering, affordable, value for money vehicles, each hand picked by Sales Manager, Ian Ramsey to bring the best choice to local people.
“It’s good to back in an environment which promotes quality of service based around the customers needs and not the PLC bank balance”, added Brian. “I believe people are a lot wiser these days, and even more careful how they spend their money. At Ramseys you know you’re dealing with a company sharing the same family values as their customers. In short its the same foundations upon which the business was built.”
