Cervical screening saves lives as every year in the UK, 3,000 women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer – the most common cancer in women age 35 years and under. Bewick Crescent Surgery has joined with other surgeries on the town to hold an awareness stall in Tesco on Wednesday 13th June from 9am – 5pm with a nurse in attendance. This is a proactive event to encourage women to have cervical samples taken and to discuss any concerns. It is also hoped to educate the population about cervical screening. We are arranging this with Peaseway Surgery and plan a nurse to be available throughout the day form 9-5pm.
