Bishop Line rail passengers can look forward to improved customer information during times of service disruption thanks to a joint initiative between Northern Rail and Bishop Trains.
Bishop Trains has been appointed by Northern Rail as the ‘Service Disruption Team’ for all stations along the Bishop Line. Locally based volunteers will provide a presence at stations during times of service disruption, providing information and travel advice to waiting passengers.
Bob Whitehouse, a representative from the Bishop Line Community Rail Partnership comments, “This scheme is a great new initiative for the Bishop Line and will mean passengers are given accurate and up-to-date information if rail services on the line are disrupted for any reason.”
The Bishop Line operates between Darlington and Bishop Auckland. As the first scheme of its kind in the North East, Bishop Trains is looking for local volunteers to become part of the Bishop Line’s Service Disruption Team. For more information email Bishop Trains at rail@bishoptrains.co.uk
