Last week the Student Leadership Team at Greenfield Community College answered questions from their fellow students during “Student Question Time.”
The group, who are nominated and elected by students at the school, gave confident, thoughtful, mature responses to the questions posed by each tutor group.
The questions covered a wide range of topics, including the work of the Student Leadership Team, the impact they have, the school environment, teaching and learning styles, educational visits, supporting charities, campaigning and reward and activity days.
The team also outlined the work they have done so far in contributing to school improvements including the changes to the uniform, prioritising areas for redecoration, working with Sodexo through the catering council, and introducing the wearing of charity badges. The team have worked hard to achieve all of this to the benefit of their fellow students in the school community.
The issues raised at the “Question Time” will now be taken to the joint meeting between the student and school leadership teams and responses will be fed back through Voice 4 Success, a weekly opportunity for Greenfield students to share their ideas with staff.
Greenfield students certainly feel their voices are being heard.
