Sara Davies said: “The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are extremely coveted, prestigious accolades. Only a small selection of businesses are fortunate enough to receive a Queen’s Award, so to be awarded one for international trade is incredible and is testament to the hard work of our team.
“Crafter’s Companion has grown on a phenomenal scale throughout the past few years and we have made exceptional developments when it comes to international trade, so much so that our international sales have now overtaken that of our UK business.
“When trying to break international markets, it’s vital to know the market inside and out and knowing your customers in these geographical areas is key. We have been successful in growing our international business because we have established a strong brand identity and with that, a loyal customer base and sense of community amongst our shoppers.
“Our products are innovative, they break the mould and we have produced many ‘firsts’ for the market. Many of our product development team are crafters in their spare time and therefore are able to create new ranges with crafters in mind.
“This year has been very strange and uncertain for so many businesses. I am so thankful that I work with an amazing group of people who carry the best interests of the company at heart and do everything that they possibly can to see it succeed.
“Winning a Queen’s Enterprise Award is a fantastic honour, especially when you consider the calibre of companies who have received one in the past, so the fact that we have won our own award is very welcome news.”
